Midterm Exam Details/ Areas

Details

• Check the course schedule for the exact time and venue of the mid-term exam
• Please turn up on time. If you come too late to the exam room we may not be able to let you take the exam
• The midterm is worth 18 percent of the course
The exam will be 1 hour 30 minutes long
• The exam is an open book, open notes exam
• Please make sure you take
  • Your HKUST Student ID card
  • pens/ pencils, a ruler, and a scientific calculator
• Computers, tablets and mobile phones are not permitted
• You cannot share anything (such as books, paper) with anyone else once the exam has begun
• This is a proper exam, so please behave properly i.e. marks deducted for talking/ mobile phones/ disturbing people by coming late, etc
• The exam will have approximately 20 questions
• Some will be multiple choice or true/false questions, some will be short questions on concepts and some will involve programming
• There won't be 'make a program from scratch' kinds of questions, but there will be 'add/change a few lines of code' kinds of questions.
• The exam could include questions about almost anything that has been discussed up to and including the previous lecture
• There won't be any questions about the exact syntax of SVG gradients and filters, but you should understand the general idea of them
